Having first visited Fez in 1986 and following a previous career in international public health, I bought the original Dar in 2007, which then housed 13 families.

Fatin joined our team in 2016 and has been a core member of the team, ever since. Young, ambitious and independent, Fatin is a great example for modern Moroccan women.

Mohammed, originally a cobbler by trade, first joined The Dar Finn Team as a labourer during it’s construction in 2008 and has been a beam of sunshine ever since.

Responsible Tourism
At Dar Finn our aim, based within the ethos of Responsible Tourism, is to ensure that tourism acts as a means for positive social, cultural and economic exchange and development. As such wherever possible, purchasing and resourcing of materials or staff is undertaken locally, thus ensuring that money feeds back in to our local community.
During the renovation of the Dar every effort was made to use traditional methods, skills, labour and materials. Where possible we have recycled wood to repair ceilings, make doors and furniture.
Food is locally sourced allowing for seasonal availability and an emphasis is made upon nurturing a growing blend of traditional and contemporary culinary styles. We encourage our guests to avoid using plastic by shopping with our in house recycled bags, these are made locally and can be purchased if you wish therefore directly benefiting the local women who make them.
Morocco is a water scarce country and thus we urge our guests not to waste this precious resource.
We aim to treat our employees fairly and support their personal and professional development.
