For me, the Pacha’s Suite is the jewel in Dar Finn’s crown. The former office of the lawyer to the Pacha (or governor) of Fez, are both sophisticated and elegant. Several hundred years old marbelled floors, ornate walls bedecked of thousands of individually hand crafted zelig (tiles), sculptured plaster work and a truly incredible hand painted, domed wooden ceiling above a bespoke king sized double bed, make the Pacha suite a feast for the senses.

Add to this the cool silky elegance of the tadalaqued arches and walls in the en-suite shower room and your own private balcony, over looking our walled garden and plunge pool, and the Pacha is a room of luxurious self indulgence and dreamy romance.

Morning sunlight spreads shades of green and red from traditional stained-glass windows on to calming white plaster and golden cedar wood ceilings, in what is probably my favourite room.

Rmila’s elegantly curved arches, framing hundred-year-old doors, open on to a king size bedroom and a separate queen-sized day bed/lounge with en-suite bathroom, offering excellent opportunities as a family room.

Personally, I love to spend my mornings sitting on the rooms private balcony overlooking our internal walled garden and plunge pool, listening to the song of birds in the cool medina morning. Though actually, the balcony is a delicious pleasure, perfect to while away any time of day or night.

Open, spacious and calm, and offering either two twin single or one king sized double bed, Ftouh is bright and inviting with beautiful zeliged floor, lighting built in to ancient walled indents and one of my favourite en-suite bathrooms.

Ftouh also benefits from the gorgeous fragrances of our internal hanging garden; an internal balcony with comfy sofa and subtle evening lighting; a place I find perfect to lose myself in a good book, my favourite music or the company of a friend, with spectacular views of the inside of the house, the medina and is in close proximity to our stunning private roof terraces.

With linking internal balcony, the Ftouh and Guissa rooms offer an excellent opportunity for friends or family to take over a whole floor at Dar Finn, Fez.

Luxury Single Room Suite has a comfortable queen size or twin bed, a sitting area, separate desk and bathroom with walk-in rain dance shower or a bath and shower and modern art and neutral colors.

The rooms come with full amenities; Flat Screen TV, Wi-Fi, THE SPA COLLECTION amenities, air-conditioning, hairdryer, safe, minibar and complimentary coffee & tea facilities.

With stunning, traditional hand painted high wooden ceiling beams, known as “zuak” and several hundred years old, multi-coloured floor and wall tiled zelig, The Bab Sammarine Suite is both elegant and evocative of another age. Beautifully hand-crafted cedar “mucerabia” woodwork, frame the private mezzanine balcony, offering a separate bedroom or lounge to twin or queen sized double beds and the en-suite bathroom below.

From here, I love to sit, hidden behind the hand wrought iron work of the giant arch framed windows and watch the goings on in the court yard below, much as it’s occupants would have done, centuries ago.

With a combination of intricately hand painted wooden ceilings, beautifully tiled floors, handmade wrought iron double bed with lounge seating and a beautiful bespoke en suite bathroom, I love to indulge myself in S’baa by sitting for a while in it’s large,traditional, cedar wood internal windows, one of the best places in the Dar to explore the houses architecture and extraordinary artisanal details.

Filled with character, history and ample examples of the traditional artisanal skills for which Fez is world famous, The Bab Boujloud Suite, is our most intimate and one of our most opulent rooms.

Entering through original, intricately hand painted 3 m tall doors, which I admit, are my favourite in the house, to a marbled floor, walls of individually handmade traditional zelig tiles, beautifully ornate hand painted cedar wood ceilings, carved plaster arches, a stunning hand crafted cedar wood mezzanine lounge or second single bed room and a uniquely designed en-suite bathroom, this queen sized double bed room, is a feast for the senses.
